Here’s a little piece from my college days! 🌅 I wrote this poem a long time ago, inspired by Robert Frost’s The Road Not Taken. It’s about those choices we make that lead us down unexpected paths.
I still love how it reflects the way a single decision can change everything, so I thought I’d share it here. Hope you like it!
I rode down the town at dawn, had to reach capitol by nightfall.
Came across a fork in the road, impetuously chose the unpaved course.
I walked down the lonely road in a summer solstice, wet in sweat.
Gazed along the length of the dead yellow scruffy stubble plain,
Which once was, not like others, reaped sterile and…
